At universities, my speech is typically a one hour presentation with a 30-minute Q & A. The KEY is to go to professors, tell them about your speaker, and ask if they'll give extra credit to students who attend and write a 2-page essay about it.
Central Michigan University Students for Life put in the due diligence received a standing ovation from at least 90% of the audience.
The best professors to ask are:
Philosophy
Speech/Persuasive
Communication (since I am a
professional speaker -- my speech
is both persuasive and
inspirational)
Marriage and Family
Government
Political Science
Constitutional Law
Journalism
My speech focuses on these topics:
Adoption
Domestic Violence
Rape
Abortion
Philosophy
Law
Overcoming Adversity
Value
Identity
Purpose
For bio info to provide to professors, see mypage, About Rebecca. I strongly recommend using the Feminists for Life poster of me, "Did I Deserve the Death Penalty?" to promote the event on campus, or this photo (see left side bar) is good because you can have info on the event printed on the background. Order lots of extras, because they'll get pulled down, as you can imagine. You may want to also let the local Right to Life affiliate, the local crisis pregnancy center(s) and local churches/Catholic Respect Life Committees know that I'll be in town presenting, as well as the Young Republican Club and Christian/Catholic groups on campus such as the Newman Center, Campus Crusade for Christ or Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
